Worthing gets ready to host WAOH 2024

The dates for next year’s event have been confirmed as 21/22 september, 28/29th September.

Worthing Artists Open Houses has been an established event on the Worthing art scene since the beginning of the new millennium. In August 2015 the new Steering Group took over the event, guided by the shared vision of creating an all-inclusive, innovative and diverse grassroots event.

The trail offers a unique experience for both visitor and artist. Over three weekends in June and July, Worthing celebrates local art and provides the public with a rare opportunity to meet local artists and makers, discuss their work, watch demonstrations and take part in workshops.

Venues include shops, businesses, cafes, private houses, gardens, artists studios and community organisations. They all donate space and display areas easily accessible to the public, well signposted and often a pleasant stroll from each other. Workshops, activities, refreshments, music and spoken word all add to the enjoyment to be had, as well as unexpected delights in unusual locations. Entry to the event is entirely free.

Visitors are invited to devise their own trail routes using the map in the brochure or on our website. For more information visit worthingartistsopenhouses.com

Worthing Artists Open Houses has grown each year; with 60 venues and over 245 artists participating in 2019. From only 7000 brochures printed and distributed in 2014, the team are now distributing up to 25,000 WAOH brochures throughout Sussex, and beyond.

The event is entirely self-funded and run by a dedicated and enthusiastic team of volunteers –  Lorraine Heaysman, Jo Kirby, Beth Doll, Amalia Sanchez.

Here’s to everyone, artists and visitors alike, having a great time!
